In a move that very few should be surprised by, HBO has renewed the hit vampire drama "True Blood" for a third season to air in 2010.
The current, second season, which will air its seventh episode this Sunday, has shown dramatic growth in terms of ratings - with new viewers tuning in for each new episode and bringing stellar ratings that HBO has not seen the likes of since "The Sopranos."
This news comes on the heels of Alan Ball's statement in an interview with Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello that he is already breaking stories for the third season and is aiming to get the first two episodes filmed before the end of the year.
"True Blood" is based on the Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris. The third season will likely draw its main storyline from the third book, Club Dead, and will likely hit the airwaves next summer.
Stay tune for more updates, including an official trailer, later in this post! I must say Season 2 has exceeded my expectations.
